Textbook F.A.Q.


What are used books?

·  Used books are either bought back from students or purchased from nationwide wholesalers. We strive to bring in as many used books as possible to save students money.

What are textbook rentals?

·  Essentially, renting a textbook is acquiring the textbook needed for your class at a lower cost.

What do the different options for textbooks mean?

·  REQUIRED: Materials of instruction tied to course level content or course level goal(s) through at least one of the following options:  assigned reading, test or quiz, homework, presentation, assignment, project, or other assessment.  The materials of instruction are necessary to complete some course requirements.

  • REQUIRED CHOOSE ONE: Students choose between purchase, rent, Digital E-text, and access code.

·  RECOMMENDED: Related course materials that may be suitable as supplemental resource or provide additional information for particular interest in that program of study.

·  OPTIONAL: Optional materials are for students that prefer a print copy in addition to digital materials provided via Learning Management System and course fee.

·  NO TEXT REQUIRED: There is no textbook for this course.

·  RELATED BOOKSTORE PRODUCTS: These products are reference materials and study aids that can help students study, which are selected and carried by the bookstore. These products are not requested by the instructor/department.

What is the bookstore's textbook refund policy?

·  All refunds must be accompanied by a valid sales receipt! Textbooks may not be returned or exchanged if:

o The plastic shrink wrap has been opened or removed

o A new textbook has been highlighted or written in

o The textbook has been damaged

o The accompanying CD or study aids are missing

o Any online/access codes are opened

o Past the return policy deadline on the back of the receipt

How do I get my textbooks?

·  You must have your Student ID.

·  You can come in to the store to purchase textbooks.

·  You can order textbooks online and choose the campus you wish to pick your book(s) up at as your shipping method. Processing (1-3 days to process) and shipping times (1-3 additional days depending on shipping address selected).

o EAST PEORIA shipping method can be picked up at East Peoria Campus Bookstore, L201 (Monday – Friday 8:00am – 4:30pm).

o PEORIA shipping method can be picked up at Peoria Campus Store, Student Center room S120 (Monday – Friday 9:00am – 2:00pm).

o UPS/USPS will be sent to the Ship To address on the Online Order.

o You must have your Confirmation Number and Student ID to pick up Online Orders.
