Digital E-Text: The Digital Alternative (eBook)

A Digital E-Text is an electronic form of a printed textbook. These digital
textbooks contain all the same pages and illustrations as the printed version in full
color.
When you purchase a Digital E-Text, you are buying an access code that allows you to access a restricted copy of the physical book for use on your personal computer. Digital E-Texts can be purchased from the ICC Bookstore in store or online.
Please Note: Digital E-Texts do not contain access codes or additional materials that may be packaged with the printed text.

Please visit the textbook counter for assistance with Digital E-Texts. You will receive a
Digital E-Text tag and then proceed to
check out. The cashier will scan the Digital E-Text tag like any other textbook. Your receipt will print instructions
how to access the Digital E-Texts.

Add a Digital E-Text to your shopping cart like any other textbook. They are denoted as
Required Choose One and have Digital E-Text in the title. After you place your
order you will receive an email from RedShelf (separate from your confirmation
e-mail) that will give directions on how to access your Digital E-Text.

- The bottom of your receipt will contain instructions for the website address to access your book.
- At the website, first time users create a user name and password for maintaining all of their Digital E-Texts.
- Once the account is created and you are signed in, follow the instructions to redeem your access code.
- ICC Bookstore sells access to Digital E-Texts but does not provide direct customer support for this service.

eReader offers an offline function where users can select a page range to cache within their browser
for when wifi is not available. The percentage of offline availability is determined by the publisher.
This is not a downloadable eBook. To determine if your Digital E-Text will allow for offline access, you can see
the offline percentage allowed by selecting the "View Book Details" button on your Shelf.
Yes, RedShelf's eReader offers a printing function
where users can select a page range to print. The percentage of the eBook that is available to
print is determined by its publisher. Please note: Not all
Digital E-Texts allow printing.

- Make sure the order actually contains a DIGITAL E-TEXT and not an EBOOK. Only DIGITAL E-TEXTs will be emailed to the student by RedShelf. An EBOOK is a physical item for the student that will explain how to access their ebook online.
- RedShelf sends an email for your digital e-text to the email on your Bookstore account. Make sure this email address is valid. Emails will come from donotreply@redshelf.com. Note that you may have to check your Junk folder.

and still do not see it, you will need to get in touch with RedShelf to send you a
new link.
