You must be an ICC STUDENT TO RENT!

ALL SUMMER 2017 RENTALS ARE DUE BEFORE 4:00 PM ON December 19, 2017!
Rental textbooks must be returned before the return deadline to avoid a penalty.

Returning Your Rental Textbook

  • If you do NOT return your rentals before the Rental Return due date, you will be charged the entire new retail price of the book, in addition to the rental price that was originally paid (money that was paid during the rental transaction will NOT go towards the replacement costs). Also, you will NOT be able to register for future classes or send transcripts, and a hold will be put on your account.
  • If you do NOT return your rental in a reasonable condition, you will be charged the entire new retail price of the book, in addition to the rental price that was originally paid (money that was paid during the rental transaction will NOT go towards the replacement costs). Please read below to see what qualifies as resalable condition.

Lost or Damaged Rental Books

  • If your rental textbook is lost or damaged during the rental period, you will be charged the entire new retail price of the book, in addition to the rental price that was originally paid (money that was paid during the rental transaction will NOT go towards the replacement costs).

Keeping Your Rental Book in Good Condition

  • You may ONLY have minimal, notes, markings, or highlighting in your rental textbook. You will be responsible for all writing and markings when you return the rental textbook. A rental textbook with excessive writing, highlighting, or markings in it will NOT be accepted for a return.
  • Your rental textbook must be in a reasonable condition. Books with torn pages, moisture damage, torn covers, excessive writing & highlighting, damage from animals/pets, etc., will not be accepted. The rented textbooks will be inspected by the Bookstore staff to determine if the condition for return is acceptable. If, for any reason, you do not or cannot return your rental textbook, you will be charged the full retail price of a new book, in addition to the rental price that was originally paid (money that was paid during the rental transaction will NOT go towards the replacement costs). The retail price of the book will be charged to your student account or to your credit card if the rental was ordered online.
  • If you notice any writing, highlighting, markings, etc., RIGHT AFTER you rent the textbook, you MUST report ALL excessive writing & highlighting, markings, and other damages to the Bookstore within 1 week of renting the textbook. If you do not report any excessive writing  & highlighting, damages, etc., within the 1 week, you will be held responsible for any markings/damages/etc. that are found in the book during the book's return.

Rental Return Textbook Appeals

  • You must file an appeal with the Bookstore for your rental return if it falls under an extenuating circumstance. An extenuating circumstance will be considered only when justified by such things as illness, job changes, accident, death or illness in immediate family which prevent continued attendance in the class.
  • Once the appeal is reviewed, you will receive an email regarding the outcome of your appeal. If the email states that we accept your rental return, the Bookstore will then charge you a $15 late fee per book, which will not exceed $60, on textbooks that are in useable condition and are being used in the current semester.
  • In order to obtain your refund, you have one week from the date of the email to return your books to the Bookstore.
